[00:00:01] Screen sharing is how you asked me. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So you're the. You're a co host. [00:00:07] Okay, I just want to take myself off of that one second. [00:00:11] I don't want to be spotlighted. Remove for myself. [00:00:14] Did I remove it for everybody or just for myself? [00:00:19] I remember whatever, whatever. [00:00:21] Because I didn't want to see it on my computer. Did I remove it for everybody or just for me? [00:00:27] Okay, I'm good to go. We can see you. Yeah, you're good. It'll get you while you talk. So I'm okay to go? Yeah, Yep, go ahead. Okay, fine. Okay. Thank you so much. [00:00:39] Okay, here we go. [00:00:43] Okay. [00:00:44] To everybody in Shavuatov, thank you very much to Masara Baltimore, the Women's Institute of Learning, for inviting me to present this year. It's always a pleasure and an honor learning with this wonderful group of women. [00:00:55] We've studied together before and I understand that I am the last presenter in this year of 5785 before you break for the summer Rosh Chodesh series. [00:01:06] So I hope the topic will be Akon Akon Khavif and it'll take you into the summer months. So what are we studying and what are we learning? Tonight I prepared a brand new share for you. [00:01:18] My husband said, why a brand new share? I said, because I never gave an in depth Shia on Kriya Satara for Rosh Hashanah. That was the topic. So I had to write a whole new sheer Baruch Hashem. So I learned, and I hope you are going to learn as well. Rosh Kodesh is something that is fundamental to the foundation, literally is fundamental to the fan, not only to the continuity, not only to the Jewish calendar, is absolutely fundamental to the foundation of Amisrael. [00:01:47] When Kaishu was getting ready to leave Egypt back in Parsha's bow, in the book of Shemos, the very first national mitzvah that Hashem commanded Moshe. It's amazing. It's really amazing when you think about that. Of all the mitzvahs and Kolotarakuya could have chosen to give Kai. So first, they're all coming. We're going to have Matan Torah, we're going to have Tosha, we're going to have B says, what is the first national mitzvah? We didn't leave Egypt yet. We didn't come anywhere near Harina yet. The first national mitzvah, it's impartial bow Par. [00:02:22] It's not on your handout. And that's because we are talking about the to we are learning about the Krish Kodesh, but just a little bit of a brief inter introduction of the importance of Rose Chodesh. So it appears in preious bone, chapter 12, verse 2 of the book of Shamos. And Hashem told Moshe and Aaron in the land of Egypt, that's per bas to speak to the children of Israel and tell them, she says, when Hashem said, this month is for you, Rose Chodashim, the first months of the year. So Rashu says, which month is this? This is the month of Nisa. You know that even though we celebrate Mima Vinta, New Year and Tishrei, according to the Torah, the calculation of new months and the new year begins every year on Nisan. That's when we left Egypt and that is ground zero month. And everything moves forward from there. When the Torah says in this, in yesterday's Parasha parish, that in the seventh month it's Yamtua, that's what we call Tishai. So we count the months from Isana Kodeshata. [00:03:24] So I'm said, I'm giving you the biggest Matana, I'm giving you the biggest gift. This month is for you. [00:03:32] It's the first of the months of the year. And with freedom came ownership of time. It is not possible to speak about Rosh Kodesh with, not understand, without understanding this, the first national Mitzvah's time. Because Rabbi Joseph B. Salvik, the Rav, explains that without owning time, without ownership of time, all the other mitzvahs are meaningless. A slave does not own a time. Who owns the slave's time? The master owns a slave time. So since the slave does not have freedom and time, he cannot keep the mitzvahs. Now our entire calendar is time bound to different times. There's a time to Dava Shachas. There's a time for his man Krish Moshe. There's a time for his man Krish Moshe Ar. There's a time for Mincha. There's a time when Shabbos comes in. There's a time for Tsesa Kochavim. There's the days of a woman's clean cycle. There's the days a woman counts after childbirth. There's the days that we're counting of spheres Omer, our calendar is inherently time bound. So what good are all the mitzvahs if we don't own time? So the very first, before Yom Kippur, before Shabbos, before Cash, before Tarsa, before any of the other Mitches that you might think are more significant than Rosh Kodesh. First, first, first, first. [00:04:39] Well, first out of 613 is Rosh Chodesh. It's amazing. If you ask somebody, how important do you think Rosh Chodesh is? I mean, it's nice, but really is it so fundamental to the foundation of Kai? So the answer is it's the foundation of Kaisha. Because you can't keep the rest of the Torah if you don't own your time. So said now you're going free. [00:05:01] This is because until now the taskmaster owned their time. They did not have freedom in time. If the taskmaster says, work the field and you say, oh, you know, I really have to dava milcha, the taskmaster says, well, I'm going to throw you into the N river if you don't work the field. There's no choice. [00:05:22] This month is for you, the first of the month. [00:05:26] And the concept not only of owning taught, and that's where we have to understand the Rosha is the foundation of Kaisha. Of course, everything else important, Yom Kippur important, casual important, but it's all meaningless if you don't own time. [00:05:42] That's first. The other thing we often understand about Rose Chodesh is how God introduced the command with the word Kodesh. Because after we look at the Kriya Satara for Rosh Kodesh, which we're going to after this introduction, we're going to take care of Shamsher and follow Hersh. And he focuses on the idea of Roche means the head or the first chodesh. So chodesh means month, also means which is the power and impact of renewal. We know that the moon renews itself, so to speak. I know the moon is a piece of rock in outer space and it doesn't really renew our itself from Just like the sun, by the way, doesn't rise and set, the sun doesn't actually move. We move but from our vantage point as human beings on planet Earth. So we perceive that the moon renews, waxes and wanes, just like we perceive that the sun rises and it sets. And that's what's important. We perceive that there is to the moon. And therefore K's survivor is like the moon. It is mischadish. The nation always has the ability to recreate, to renew itself. And every individual has the ability to renew and recreate themselves. It's the matana, it's the gift of so now, with that as introduction, we just spoke about two things very, very important. One, based on the Rav you must understand that Rosh Chodesh is the foundation of our nation. That's why you might say to is the foundation of nation. It's true. But you can't keep Torah if you don't own time, if your master owns time. So the Torah is meaningless to you. [00:07:15] That's one. And that's why. That's how we understand that God chose this first out of all the other 600. It just should change your whole perspect about how important. [00:07:25] And the second thing we understand is that kodesh doesn't only mean man month means because we're going to look at the piece where I've Shamsher fall Hirsch where he explains the impact and the import of kidosh on not only the nation, but every individual. So now we're going to actually go to the Kriya Satoah. It's on your handout, which I believe Andrea posted for you. But I'm actually going to be screen sharing from online because we're going to be going through some of the Rashis. And on your hand, though you don't have the rashi. So if you want to follow along on your hand. That's beautiful. You have the Sukim of the Kriya. It's impartial Pinchas, which is in safer Bamidbar. We're finishing safer this coming Shabas with Bahar and you're finishing. It's in safer by midbar. It's impartial. It's labeled on the top of your head. It says paras finchas, but midbar 281 through 15. I know the handouts were sent to you, but I'm going to be screen sharing so you could also see Rashi. Feel free to follow along on your handout. You have all the there. I'm just going to come back to in screen share. One second. It's prepared over here. [00:08:24] Okay. You should be able to see. It says. [00:08:26] Yeah, Andrew, could you tell me somebody could you tell me. Okay, very good. Let me just get my pointer, please. [00:08:35] Okay, there we go. Now. Oh. [00:08:39] In parishes, Pinchas goes through the different carbanos of the Jewish calendar year. [00:08:45] It begins with the carbon tamid, which is part of the Kriya Satara for Rose Kodesh. The carbon tamid was the carbon that was brought every single day. The carbon th of the morning opened up the avoda in the beta McDash or Mishkan, and the carbon timed of the late afternoon closed the service of the day. So no carbon was allowed to be brought. No service was done. Before the carbon timet of the morning, and no service was done after the carbon th of the afternoon. So you could imagine that these are like the book ends of the Avodah in the Bedwikdash Mishkan for that day. So whatever happened, whether it's Yom Kippur, there's a carbon timer. If it's Shabbos, there's a carbon time. If it's a Yom Shlshi, it's a carbon time. If it's Rosh Chodesh, there's a carbon time. If it's Rosh Hashanah, there's a carbon tablet. So carbon tablet means continual and consistent. And two sheep were offered, one in the morning, one in the late afternoon, no avodah before and no avodah after. And that's how Perakhet ches begins. Right? [00:09:48] Hashem spoke to Moshe, saying again, you could be following along on your hand at a few like, okay, it's the first 15 of parachavchas is the Kriya Satorah, but it begins with the carbon tamet, the Kriya Satorah that we read, which we're going to move to the Rosh Rosh Chodesh Korbanos, but it begins with carbon tablet. [00:10:10] Command the children of Ezra Martalem and say to them, eskarbani vaikarban lami my bread li ishai for a burning for me reah ni chochi a pleasant same for me, so to speak, Tishmaru, you shall guard the hakriva to offer to me. And it's a point in time. So the Caribbean Tamil has to be offered. It is considered a carbon for Hashem. We're going to see what Rashi says. What is that means? My offering means this is the blood of the carbon Tamid Lakhmi. What is lakhmi? So Rashi says, look here on the side of the screen. [00:10:52] These are the stated parts. These are the parts I'm going to quote the footnote in the Arts Garage to explain. I always say when I teach k and I'm going to say now also, you cannot ask me questions on Kanas beyond what I prepared is very, very complex. It is very. It is an ancient ritual that Rahman al Islamic ruins. [00:11:14] We do not have any experience with Carbados in almost 2,000 years. So I always say this claim when I teach about Carbados. I'm saying it now as a Please do not ask me questions beyond what I prepared. I am not the right source. It's difficult for us to relate to a fundamental Service that unfortunately has been absent from our nation, sadly, tragically, since Khorban bay shady in 69 saw 70 common era. Okay, Lakhmi, so this means, you see here with Rashi, what is amirin? These are the stated parts. I'm quoting art school for now. What does that mean? That is these parts of the animal's body that the Torah states must be offered on the Mizbek. In the case of an Ola offering and the carbon time. It is an ola. This means the entire animal except for the hides, except for the skin, so says Kani. It means the blood of the offering. Lami means the parts of the animals sacrifice to God. A part of the animal sacrifice to God in this case is the entire animal, except for the skin of the anima. Okay, let's keep going. The ishai for a burning. So Rashi says, for my fires. Look at Rashi. [00:12:35] These are the parts of the animal which go into the fires of the altar. By the way, we must say, where are the kanas offered? There are two Mizbecha. There's a Mizbek Hazahav, the golden altar, which is also called the Mizbecha Primi, the inner altar, which is also called the offer for incense spice offerings because there was an 11 spice mixture. It was known as the ketoras, we translate as the incense spices. It was offered twice a day in the Mishkan Beta Mikdash in the morning and in the evening. That is reserved for the Mizbech as a half, the golden altar. [00:13:12] Golden altar, inner altar, Mizbeka ketoras, the altar for the incense spices. [00:13:19] That is nothing to do with animal offerings. You must know that. Where are the animal offerings brought? They are brought on what's called, is also known as it stood outside in the courtyard instead of inside in the inner chambers. It's also known as mizbeka ola, because animals were offered on top. This is in carbon ola. A carbon ola is when everything is burned to God. So it's known as the mizbeach ola, which means the. [00:13:49] The mizbeach, the altar for offering the sacrifices because it was made of copper, because it stood outside of the inner sanctuary. So when we talk about this whole parachute, this suga that we're looking at, we're talking about the offerings that are happening on the Mizbekoshas, the copper altar. There was a ramp. There was a ramp that went up from the floor to the top. How's the coin going to reach on top of the Mizbek to Put the animal up there. I mean, we're talking about mamish anim. Okay? A cow, a sheep, a go. Big heavy animal parts. In this case, the carbon. Time it again. This is Evans with me. We're in the tarot reading for Rosh Hashanah. [00:14:28] Reading for oshkodesh. Okay, how are you gonna get the animal up there? Well, you're strong enough to take a cow and throw it up to the top of his bay. I don't know, maybe some people are strong enough, but every koa is strong enough to throw the animal up. That's not so realistic. Maybe you're going to miss the pyre. Maybe you're going to miss the top of them as back there's a ramp. [00:14:44] A ramp. Not steps specifically non stops because of gilui era for the coin has to be more sanua. He walks up a ramp from floor level to the top. There's a ledge around the mizbeach. And then he's able to put the animal on top of the fire, add wood to the fire, stoke the fire. There are prongs to turn the meat. So we are talking about the mizbeka nachoshas. That's the only altar where animals are offered. Okay, let's go back to the posse. We're still in public base. So the isha, when the posse says it's for my fire, so Rashi says right here, the parts of the animal that go on the fire of my mizbeh, which Mizbek, we just explained them, is beka nikoshas. Okay? [00:15:32] You should be on guard to offer to me every day. And Rashi says, what is bemoado? In its appointed time, this carbon of the carbon tamid was offered every single day, like we already said. And you're not allowed to miss a day. In fact, the Mishnah tells us a mishnah tiness parad mishna. The mishna tells us that five calamities befell our forefathers on Shiva Sabatamus. Five calamities befell our forefatherns on Tisha B'Av. And one of the five calamities of Shibas is Bhatamir. In the time of the siege around Jerusalem, they ran out of sheep to offer as the carbon Thomas. And this is considered a very great tragedy because it has to be brought twice a day. Every single day. It opens the day service, it closes the day service, and it represents 16, 8 represents consistency and constancy in our avodus hashem. So you have to remember to bring Up a moa though moid means as Raf Shamsher follows an appointed time for where God and CL meet in terms of the car. What's the point of time where God and K meet every single day? Okay, the amar to Allaham. And you shall say to them again, Moshe should command the children of Israel, this is the fire offering from the word that you shall offer to hashem Kvasim sheep within their first year to mim. They must be pure. We just had them, precious Emma, as in yesterday's kriya Satora. We just had a partial Mr. That blemished animals, animals that are Bali Mumim, animals with blemishes are not allowed to be offered on the mizbeach. The animal has to be tummy, it has to be pure, it has to be whole, it has to be complete. An animal with a blemish, it's also to offer on the mizbek. Okay, so you should say to the chosen, this is the fire that you are to offer to Hashem, meaning the fire offering sheep or lambs within their first year to me meme pure. [00:17:49] Like we said 2 every day it is considered an ola. We already said that an ola is kulu la hashem. Besides for the skin, I. E. The hide of the animal, the entire animal is burnt on the mizbek. What does that mean? Certain. Certain carbono are shared between the mizbeach, the kohanim and the bal carbon. So the mizbeach gets a portion of the animal, the kohen gets a portion of the animal, and the person bringing the carbon gets a portion of the animal. And an example of all to the bao, carbon is carbon pesach. The carbon pesach is roasted, but the entire animal is eaten by the people bringing the carbon. The ola is the opposite end of the spectrum. The olos, kula, lashema. The entire animal is burned totally to God. So you don't get a portion, the coin doesn't get the, you know, the breast of waving, the thigh of waving. The whole thing goes on the Mizbeh. [00:18:47] Two sheep males within their first year, pure every day. Tamid, what does Tamil mean? Tamil means two things, Tamid. One means always and tamitu means consistent. [00:19:01] There's a big difference between always. Inconsistent. [00:19:04] Certain elements in the avoda, in avoda in life are. Tommy doesn't always. [00:19:11] Certain elements are tummy, as in consistent. [00:19:15] So for example, as long as I'm alive, as long as we're alive, we are always breathing. That's tomit of always. [00:19:25] Even though you don't think about it. It's not something you might be cognizant of. As long as you're alive, you're breathing. That's always time. It of consistency does not mean something that happens always, but it means you act in a consistent fashion. This carbon is not tomit of always. It wasn't offered. Always is in 24 hours a day, seven days a week on the Misbeh, it was offered with consistency. This teaches us something tremendously important about our own avoda Sasha. A Jew must be consistent of salvation. There's a whole beautiful piece on this. A Jew must be consistent in his avodus hashem. The Rab says you must be same person in the bedroom and the boardroom, in private and in public, in your home and your show. That is consistency, in a word doesn't mean always, but it means that I have a degree of consistency in how I behave. The same way I speak here is how I speak here. The same foods I eat here or what I eat there. The same way I dress here is how I dress here. I must be consistent in my evodos hashem2 every day ola totally burnt Tamid as a tamid offering offering that is offered consistently now, as one sheep you shall offer in the morning and the other sheep is offered in the afternoon. So Rashi tells us, look here now in Sefer Shemos, the Mishkan has introduced us in the parasites of Truman to Tzava and say, Fisher. Most and the people are commanded to build a Mishkan. We learn all about Mishkan in the presence of true men to Sava. Rashu points out that if you go back to Parsha's Titsava, the carbon of Tamid was already commanded to us. So now the Torah is repeating it here in Parshas Pinchas. Why so Rashi says, even though we were already commanded regarding the carbon Tammy, the offering of consistency that opened up the day service and closed the day service that offers two lamb male within their first year, pure total offering to God aside for the skin, okay? [00:21:43] Even though this was already commanded us at the time that we were commanded to build the Mishkan, the Conceiva do so actually says there's a difference that correct into Sava, when we're introduced to the mix, Mishkan is the command for the shua, the inauguration of the Mishkan. And the people should know during the inauguration of the Mishkan, you're going to be bringing the carbon Tamid. This passage from Parshas Pinchas is the doros as long as the Beta Mikdash stands, you have to know this is not talking about during the seven days of inauguration of the Mishkan in the desert. It's talking about the Dora's passion for all generations in the beta McDash. You are going to be bringing a carbon tamid twice a day now, along with the carbon Tamid, we're up to pash. Okay, one second. Let me just move my pointer on my screen here. Along with the carbon tablet, you bring the as series. From the word esseris, haifa, solas, you bring a mincha, a flower offering, a tenth of an ifa. So today you'd say a third of a cup, a quarter of a cup, 150 grams a series Haifa. How much? A measurement of a tenth of an ifa. Solas ground fine flour laminha. So along with the sheep of the morning, you brought a mincha offering, a flower offering, just plain flour, no belula bashamen, it was mixed flour mixed with oil, cassis, it was crushed from the olives. [00:23:12] So that was the recipe for the carbon mincha that accompanies the morning tamid. A tent of an ifa, a fine flower for the mincha, I. E. The carbon of flour mixed with oil that was crushed from olives. And how much oil do you mix with your tenth of an apha? It gives you the recipe a quarter again. Okay, now what else do you need? [00:23:36] Oh, so Rashi also points out here. Sorry, Rashi points out, this is the meal offering. [00:23:41] This is the meal offering that goes along with the poured wine offering, Minas Nisim. This is the libation offering. So along with the Korban, they would pour wine and they would bring a car. [00:23:53] I think learning, learning topics like these, first of all very important because very often we may not be aware or informed, educated about what's actually happening. [00:24:09] Also, I think it gives us a taste of what we're missing, and we don't even realize what we're missing. [00:24:15] This avoder Binu Yona says in his commentary to Pirke Avosalim, what is avoda? [00:24:29] Explains that avoda today that holds up the world is tefillah. A tefilla takes the place of carbano and it's a long rabino Yoda. But he explains it's very beautiful that the whole world was created for the purpose of the carbano in the Beta Vikdash, on Heartseon in Yerushalay. [00:24:48] And when we learn a sugar like this, we realize how far removed we are. [00:24:54] Why do we really mourn for unto Shabbat. How do we think about how hungry I am? Yes. Mikhor thinks about that. How soon I'm gonna get the food? What's going to be for the after meal? When is it? And I could go to the supermarket, put up a soup. [00:25:07] Maybe we watch some sad videos to make us feel a little bad. We hopefully learn something to internalize the severity of the day. [00:25:16] We're mourning the loss of Jewish sovereignty and the loss of the epicenter. [00:25:23] All about this hashem we have today, which we must cling to, is a replacement, is an aside, is a supplement to the main of Oda. I mean, just two weeks ago we had parishes, we had the vote of Yom Kippur. [00:25:44] Resembles nothing like today. It's all about the Kohen and his Carbanus and his Avoda and the Beta McDash. So I think when we learn these things and we say, wow, they're bringing two sheep a day, along with flour mixed with oil and poured libation offerings every single day. This opened the avoda for the nation. [00:26:02] It's considered a carbon siber. It's behalf on all of us. We don't have it today. [00:26:12] This is an ola tamid, like it was done at Harsida. You have to remember that though Mishkan and the Shiva you made all happened at Harsina. The people arrived at Harsina in precious Yisroel parakeetas of savish most. And they did not leave till pajas balos. [00:26:28] So almost the entire savage Moses, the entire shape of a cr. The beginning of the Mikbar taking place at Harsinai. That's when we were commanded to build the Mishkan and bring this carbon tamid. [00:26:40] It is a pleasing fragrance, Isha. It is a burn lashem and it's a poor libation offering. Ruvis hain. It's a quarter heen for each lamb in the code as you support the libation offering, hard drink, hard alcohol from hashem. So we see that it was accompanied. Each sheep was accompanied by aminha, which is flour mixed with oil, as well as a poured libation offering of wine. Now that's for the morning. [00:27:13] And the second lamb you should do in the afternoon, just like the mincha of the morning and just like the poor libation offering. So the Torah is now telling you whatever you did in the morning, you brought the sheep, you brought the korba mincha which was the flour mixed with oil. You had the poured wine libation offering on top of the altar. You're going to duplicate an afternoon every single day. And the Mishnah tells us that it was one of the tragedies of Shivas when there were no sheep left. It's a tragedy where this cannot be performed. [00:27:47] It is a pleasing fragrance to God. What does it mean when we say the carbonas are pleasing favorites? God Hashem enjoys the enjoys the scent of roasted meat. What does that mean? She says very important before me. It is a pleasing to my soul, so to speak. It is a contentment to my spirit. Hashem says his contentment of spirit before me. I commanded and my will was done. And Kaisha feels rots and Hashem and we carry out the edicts of God as he desires and commands us. It's a great pleasure to of course, to know that his children carry out Israel. I don't know if anybody says Corbanus. Any woman in part of the Shir say Korbanas in the morning by a bunch of years ago, my friend Misa Rotman, her husband Hashemi Kundama was murdered in the Haranov terror attack in Toronto. [00:28:51] Was a hoser Betoshuva. He moved out to Shaw Harnell Yerushalayim raising his family. He was the victim who was wounded the most severely on the morning of the Hernov terror attack. [00:29:03] He remained in a vegetative comatose state for one year and he died the following hashtag. So his yard site is actually not like the rest of the Kadoshim. He never recovered. He was mortally wounded. If you didn't read Reese's book, I recommend it. I have nothing to do with art school or herbach, but just for your own. [00:29:22] It's called Terror and Amuna and her Nof by Risa Rahman. It's very, very kadai to read and very, very inspiring her and important. Her husband was murdered in the heart of Pigua. And a number of years ago she told me that she learned from one of her daughters who learned from in school, from one of their teachers, that even if you don't have time to say all the carbanas, a woman should still say the passage of the Corbin tamit if in between and depending on if you daven ask or sfart after burkhas before there are carbanos, look in your sitter. You'll see that the passage that we just went through and explained is in your sitter. And it's something that's supposed to be said every morning. And in the absence of carbanus, the actual carbonas that we don't have today anymore, we do have the ability to recite the passages of the krabanasu. Counts it, so to speak, as if our lips are bringing the ball offerings. As if our lips are bringing the offerings. And this is something that can be incorporated. Could ask you rough. Okay, so I'm going to say should be. I'll peer. I've incorporated every day into our dobbin. And yes, for women as well. [00:30:42] Okay, now the Torah moves on. We're still in the Torah reading and I'm on shop. So the remember. Why does the term remember is all the Kabas moves through the Jewish calendar. If you will continue in the whole park, you'll see a move to the whole counter. So why do we begin with the carbon, Thomas? Well, it makes sense because like I told you in the beginning, every single day the carbon time it is brought asana or hagasukos, whatever day it is, the carbon time it begins the morning, the carbon time it ends afternoon. It's brought every single day. Now what comes every seven days. [00:31:19] And now on the Sabbath, now we have special carbon that is brought on Shabbos. Two male lambs in their first year. [00:31:31] Two tenths of fine flour. Remember, when you bring your labs, you're going to bring the carbon mincha. What's the carbon mincha? Flour mixed with oil. [00:31:41] Two tenths of fine flour mincha as the minch offering. Balula bashamen mixed with oil vinisco and the poured wine libation offering. This is ola Shabbos. [00:31:53] This is the ola of every single Shabbos in addition to the carbon Tamil and its poor libation offering. So in other words, the Torah is telling you when Shabbos comes, you shouldn't think, oh, because Shabbos is here, I don't bring the carb on top of it. No, all the Shabbos. [00:32:11] Every single Shabbos. And Rashi says here, why does it say Shabbos? [00:32:17] The Sabbath carbon in the time of its Sabbath. So Rashi says, magid Shah, you might think for some reason if we missed the Shabbos carbon this week, hey, we missed it on Parsha's, Mr. Maybe I could bring it next week. I'll do a makeup. [00:32:33] Well, I have a makeup test. We'll have a makeup carbon. [00:32:37] I'll bring large Shabbos carbon and I'll bring the Shabbos carbon. No, the posse says, oh, Shabbos. That's what Rashi tells you here on my S where my pointer is pointing. Every Shabbos in its appointed time. So you cannot bring the carbon of Shabbos. If you missed it, you missed it. You can't have a makeup. It has to be bishop in its appointed time. [00:33:00] In addition to the carbon tamit. Look what Rashi said when we talk about Musaf. What does mustaf mean? Musaf means addition means to add on Shabbos, we daven Musa. What's up? It's corresponding to the extra Korbanas of Chavez. It's corresponding to these Karma Shabbat. [00:33:22] We already translated the passage. It's corresponding to these two male lives. Are you going to bring on Shabbos? Musaf means extra. Extra what? Extra carbonas. Why do I have extra cabanas? Because it's Chavez. What are the carbonas of Chavez? These carbonos, these two male lambs within their first years, they are pure 2/10 of fine flour mixed with oil and the wine libation offering. Every single Shabbos. You can't miss partial Emma and say, you know, precious barbecue cozy. I'm gonna do makeup carvanas for last week. No, do not disregard the Olatami. This comes in addition to. Then he's cut. It's poured libation offering. And Rashi says that. So first Rashi tells us, you can't do a makeup. You can't miss this week to do it next week Shabbos. [00:34:06] Furthermore, Rash, he said the Shabbos kabanas are Musaf. That's why you daven's Mustafa. And Shabbos there are extra. They are in addition, the feeders are connected. The carbados. Today we don't have carbonas. We have to filos. That takes the place. [00:34:26] So the Shabbos Karbatas are in addition to the two male lamps of the Korban Tamil. Okay, so on Chavez, how many lambs are we bringing? [00:34:37] 4. [00:34:38] One for the carbon talent of the morning, two for Shabbos, and one for the carbon Talmud of afternoon. Ah, we continue with the Torah reading. [00:34:46] I literally cannot believe what time it is. Like, actually literally cannot believe what time is. [00:34:53] The other week I finished here and I said, okay, I prepared too much. Maybe we'll get to next week. So somebody learns with me on a regular basis. She sent me WhatsApp with a smiley face. She says, really, Michal, you prepared too much for sure. What a surprise. So I said, thank you. Made me smile. Okay. I learned a lot of my preparation. I'm trying. What should I come to? The time is. [00:35:13] We started with the value of time and owning time. I definitely don't own my time. [00:35:19] And on the Roshay and on the 1st of your month there's different carbanas. What should we bring? All the lashem. You should bring Allah to shaman. Now we already said that Ola is what totally burned to God. Which aside for the from the skin of the animal, the whole thing goes to God. Do I get any part of it? Does the Cohen get any part of it? No. On Rosh Chodesh, you should bring an ola to Hashem. [00:35:51] What should you bring? This is very interesting. You should bring two young bulls. [00:35:56] Parim bows cattle of bulls or bulls of cattle. [00:36:04] And one ram. [00:36:06] A lot of animals bring bottom sheep within their first year. Shiva to Mimim. Seven. So we have two bulls, one ram, that's three. And seven sheep. That's going to make 10 animals for the Rosh Kodash Musafin. In addition to the urban tamir of the day, there's going to be 10 animals brought on two bulls, one ram and seven sheep within the first year. To me mean pure. Because we already said that if an animal is blemished, it's not wrong. [00:36:44] Now you should already know and expect is that along with the carbanas, we bring the mincha, the flower offerings, along with the poured wine libation offerings. And that's what exactly the Torah tells us here. [00:36:59] Three tenths. Three tenths. A fine flour for the mincha mixed with oil. La para for each ball. Ushne estronim solas. [00:37:11] Excuse me. Two tenths of fine flour mixed with Allah for the aisle. So the par. The bull, they get its own mincha. The aisle, the ram, it gets its own mincha. The Isaron Issa. Run solas. Minhabula. Bashamen. [00:37:31] What about those seven sheep that we have spoken about? A tense of a fine flour mixed with oil for every one of the sheep. Ola. It's an Ola offering. Totally forgot. [00:37:45] A pleasing fragrance. We already saw what means. Rashi says. [00:37:51] God says it gives contentment. It gives pleasure to me that I spoke of. My will was done. Isha Lashem fire burn offering for hashem. So what was the coin busy doing with all Russia? [00:38:01] Why do I keep saying Russia? [00:38:03] I don't know. Why is the coin busy? There's a lot of animals being brought here. There's a lot of shafting. There's a lot of skinning. There's a lot of going up the ramp. There's a lot of parts going on in Mizbeach. There's a lot of flour mixed with oil. Poor libation offerings. It's a very busy day. What's happening, Musaf? And that's why? Just like Shabbos, you daven Musaf. [00:38:26] What are we davening? We're davening corresponding to the extra Corbados. [00:38:32] We're. We're fortunate that Khazal did not say you should dive in. One mush of tefila for every carbon that was brought. You'll be doubling 10 extra Shimona s race. Maybe because they know it's hard to keep your Kavanaugh for one Muslim, never mind for 10. But Moussef is corresponding to the extra carbonas that you are now learning about. This is what the Corwin was doing doing for the Avoda on the day of Rose Kodesh. He has the carbon Tommy, that comes first. [00:38:56] Wait, wait, wait. Let's say it's Shabbos. Rosh Kodesh. [00:39:03] He has Corbin Tamid for the day of the morning. [00:39:06] He has two lambs of Shabbos, snake Vas and Venetian. [00:39:12] He has two lambs of rose Kodesh, one ram of Rosh Kodesh. [00:39:17] That's six, seven lambs of Rosh Kodesh. What? Six plus seven. Thirteen plus the carbon Thomas of the afternoon, fourteen. He's very busy. There's a lot going on in the beta McDash. [00:39:33] And now along with the Rose Kodesh, Karbanos, you have poured libation offerings. I literally cannot. I can't understand the time. I can't believe or understand the time. And the poor. We need two parts of the year. I'm not joking. [00:39:48] Venus came and the poor libation offerings. [00:39:52] A half of a hin yellow par for every par for every bull. Half h of wine and a third hin for the ram and a quarter heen for every one of the seven sheep. Yay. And of wine. Remember, every time they brought the carbon, they pour a specific amount of wine on them is back as well. [00:40:16] Just like it's Shabbos. [00:40:18] So it's. [00:40:21] Now you're going to see what Rashi says. The same thing as what Rashi said by Shabbos. [00:40:31] Okay, so now we read about the Prabhas reverse Kodesh. The flower offerings that go along with each animal. The poor libation offerings that go along with each animal. And now the posture tells you this is the ola of every month in its mouth. Meaning look at Rashi. Just like Rashi said by Shabbos. What did I do? Just like, oops, I clicked the wrong thing by mistake. Let's get back to Rashi. Just like Rashi says by Shabbat. [00:41:07] So I don't know, let's say you for some Reason didn't bring the Carbana service or whatever. And then you say, oh, you know, I'm gonna make up on Sivan. Instead of bringing the two balls and the ram and the seven sheep, Rose Chodesha. We didn't bring an ear. I'm going to bring it on. See the. Then you can't do that. Remember, every single word of Chumash, every single word of hummus teaches you something. So if it says by the Kabanas of Shab is Shabbis, you can't even make up the same lesson. You have here the power of the offering on this day, you can't make it up. [00:41:42] If you missed for some reason the K of this chodesh, you can do it in another Rosh Kodesh. Ah, never mind. There's something else that we didn't, we weren't informed of yet on Rose chodesh. Another special carbon. [00:41:55] So somebody said in the comments, does not seem very restful. [00:42:00] I'm not sure what the first comment, if you want to clarify. I'm not sure what the first comment, which was one letter in English, I don't know what that says. I'm sorry. You could feel free to type again and clarify. Does not seem very restful. That's what I was trying to say. We do not understand the me. [00:42:18] Okay? [00:42:21] We don't understand what was happening in the avoda, the Beta McDash. I'll tell you something interesting. You said it does not seem very restful. It's hard work, it's very laborious. It's a lot of animals. There's one more that we didn't even remember. What if it's a Shabbos? We counted all the animals. You have the Ola Tamid of every single day, which is already two sheep. You have the crossroom of Shabbos, which is two more sheep. You have the two bowls, one ram, seven sheep of Rosh chodesh. [00:42:48] In this past week's partial partial Amor, the Torah disqualifies a Corbin with a physical blemish from serving, which we just read. The Torah goes through a list of different moon, different blemishes that a Kohenu has. These blemishes is not allowed to serve. [00:43:12] There are different reasons given as to why a Cohen who has a mum is not allowed to serve. Just like an animal with a moom. I told you that before. The animals to beats me meme. Pure, wholesome, complete. An animal with a mom is not allowed to be offered a Cohen with a move is not allowed to serve There are different reasons. But a number of years ago at the Shabbat table, our son Arya proposed something which I found very meaningful, very relevant and very true. [00:43:38] If he's a brought down summer, maybe there's a lot of insights in this, but one nakuda, he said it's not discriminating against the kohen who has a mum that he can serve. He physically would not be able to do the labor. This is very hard work. The kohanim are working up them down, down the rap this meat that me this animal that. They have to sprinkle the blood. They have to pour the wine, turn the meat. They have to make sure the whole thing is burned. That's why they have prongs. There are copper prongs to go along with the copper altar to turn them. It's hard work and they're very, very busy. And that's what Moussaf is. When we daven Musaf, it's connected all of these extra offerings. And then finally the posse says there's something else that is brought about. This. After we list all of those animals, one male goat. [00:44:30] It is a chat, this offering to Hashem, just like we saw by Shabbat. Do not take out the Ola Tamil. Don't think that the time it is in bra. [00:44:41] All of this goes. Excuse me. In addition to the oldest should be done Venice call and it's libation, it's poured wine offering. So while she says this entire offering is brought in addition to the poured wine libation offering, I want to show you the end of Rashi here, which is the only Rashi that you have in your handout. If you notice, there's a very strange lotion. It says about this goal, this one goat that is brought. So in addition to all the animals, for the Ola, the two sheep of Oshkodesh, the ram of those kodesh. No, the two bulls. Two balls. Two balls of rosh kodesh, one ram and seven sheep. [00:45:24] There's also an 11th carbon brought in Roshodesh. That's not an ola, that's a katas. And it's a very interesting choice of Lashan because the posse says one goat. [00:45:41] So it makes it sound like Hashem needs a karma katash. [00:45:44] That's very strange. Hashem needs a curve of katas. What is that talking about A sin offering for God. So look at Rashi here. Rashi quotes. [00:45:55] Look at Rashi. [00:45:56] What is this gold offering? [00:45:59] The man just teachers remember rose gold. This is about the renewal of the sun. [00:46:11] No, this is about the renewal of the moon. [00:46:20] I need a kapara. I need an atonement because I diminished the moon. So this is a very enigmatic, very interesting, very difficult teaching of Chazal. [00:46:33] That's a Torah reading for Rosh Chodesh, which is the topic of our share. Let's go to our handout now, which I'm coming back to screen share with you. Different screen share. [00:46:47] Okay. [00:46:50] Just getting my pointer. [00:46:55] Okay, can you see here it says parishes, Pinchas, Midbar, 28, run through 15. Okay. We went through all these with Rashis and explanation. That's a Torah reading. We're skipping the whole peace, Brave Sanshu and Pharaoh. I literally. I don't know. Whatever. Okay, Bar Hashem. Bar Hashem for the extra voda preparation. [00:47:15] Okay, the posse tells us we're going back to my Suboritius. Okay. But Hashem created the world. By the way, I tried to take out any instances of Seamus in this handout where it says the shame Havaya and Shame Elohim. I tried to take it out. If I missed one, Please be careful. If you printed these sheets. Very important to be aware of that. [00:47:38] I tried. It's possible I missed one. Shame Hashem. Not on purpose. So by Bria. So Olam and Hashem is creating the world. [00:47:48] There be luminaries in the firmament of the heavens to separate between the day and between the night. [00:48:00] And they should be for signs and for appointed times and for days and for years. So in other words, these luminaries and the heavens will dictate the the calendar. They'll be the signs of when we'll have appointed times and when we'll have days, and when we'll have years. [00:48:15] They will be for luminaries in the firmament of the heaven to light upon the earth. [00:48:22] And so it was made the two great luminaries. And then it says, God made two great luminaries. The great luminary to rule by day and the small luminary to rule at night. What's the problem here? First it says two great luminaries, Then it says, wait, One is Maharhagadal and one is Markatan. Are they both godolim or is one Godot and one Katan? The Katan rules at night and the stars. [00:49:01] And Eloquim put with these luminaries in the firmament of the heaven to shine light upon the earth and to rule by day and by night. [00:49:12] And to separate between light and darkness. [00:49:15] God saw was good. [00:49:18] Okay, so this is on the fourth day of creation. So Ra, she Says, why does it say the gray luminaries? Shavim nivru, they were created equal. [00:49:32] The moon was diminished because she complained, so to speak, about Amra. And the moon said, it's not possible for two kings. These luminaries are kings in the heavens. It's not possible for two kings to wear the same crown. So she complained. So Hashem said, you're complaining. You're going to be smaller and you won't be in the sky at the same time. You think it's not possible to wear for two kings to wear the same crowns? Fine. [00:50:01] Because he diminished the moon. He gave her hosts, he gave her stars. To appease her mind. Very, very interesting. Okay, let's look at Medrash Bereshas, Rava Parshavav, Simon Gimel, Rabbiudem Bashe, Rabbi Tamkun Bed, Rabbihia. We're talking about the carbon Hashem. The last of the offerings of Rosh Chodesh is the which translates as a sin offering for or to God. And that is the goat that is brought in. [00:50:49] The Torah says that they're both great. [00:50:53] The tarot called them both big after he called them both big. Thus you go back and make a pagan. He's like a deficiency, a defect. After the Torah says they're both big luminary. So Shem goes back and makes a deficiency. [00:51:14] You told me they're both big. Now you tell me the great luminary to rule by day and the small luminary to will by night. Asma, what's going on here? How do I understand this? We're asking a question. I thought they're both great. It says. [00:51:32] Then it says, are they both great or is one Godol and one Katan? What's going on here? Allah. However, so the measure says no, the moon needed to be diminished because she or he, the moon, entered into the boundary of her of his friend. [00:51:54] What does that mean? [00:51:55] The moon entered the boundary of his fellows. So the art school Madras Rabba explains that it means as follows, by appearing during the day. You know, very often you could look up and you see the moon during the day. I'm sure you've seen it many, many times. The moon entered the boundary or the territory of his friend. Who is his friend? The sun. So I'm supposed to be by day. The moon's supposed to be by night. But the moon entered the territory of his friend. [00:52:23] Oh, so therefore, I mean what it means, Hashem, diminished. That's what it means. First Hashem called them both great, but then moon, you entered into the territory of your friend. You're going to be diminished. You took over her territory, the sun. You're going to be diminished. You're going to be katana carbanos by all carbanos. When you bring a chatos, it says a male goat offering will be rose. [00:52:58] But on Rosh Kodesh it says in parashas all the other katas, when it says to bring a seer, easy one meal, go for a hotas. [00:53:12] Oh no, see irizim hadas la Hashem. Hashem needs a karma katasbar who said, bring an atonement for me. Also me, because I diminished, I made smaller the moon. And now the measure says of course. Rahu continues. [00:53:35] Vitruma Shah. [00:53:37] Could the moonshine be visible by day if Hashem didn't want it? What's the answer? No. Hashem is the one who gave permission to the moon to enter the the territory of its fellow. I Hashem's obviously the one who let the moon shine by day, or you wouldn't see. The moon shouldn't say shine visible. Hashem is the one who let the moon be visible by day and the territory of his fellow. [00:54:01] Gamo Hakasov we have a very strong Hash gothic lesson, after a lot of technical understanding of the chumash and the procedure and the carbonos and the animals and the valuation and the mizbeach. [00:54:23] What do we learn from here? [00:54:26] Because Baruch, who allowed the moon to be visible by day, allowed the moon to be seen in the boundary stepping on the toes of his fellow. And now coach Baraku says, because I did this, I still need a karba katas, even though the moon did so with my permission. [00:54:42] So the Manjo says, everything Hashem does is to teach us a lesson. Hashem did not have to make the moon visible by day of salvation. [00:54:53] Says we think we have many teachers, many rebe, many Russia Shivas. It is all misconception. There is only one teacher, one rabbi. [00:55:02] The voice of God who gave us the tarot or Sinai resonates in the voice of every human teacher. He is the Malami to allow me everything does he does the teachers a lesson? Of course, the question didn't have to do this. What could have done could have said sun by day, moon by night, finished to teach us that just like the moon entered the territory of its fellow, and yet the Torah caused it to be diminished because of this someone who enters the territory of his fellow without permission, how much more so will there be a pagam, some deficiency, some consequence of that person who Else who enters his fellow's boundary without permission. [00:55:47] The Mushar Haskell here. I think you have to be so careful and so sensitive with other people's feelings, other people's boundaries, with other people's nus, with other people's situations. [00:56:06] Too often we try to enter into their situations. We want to be in the know, we want to know all the details. We want to understand what happened. We want to push our way into somebody else's life. We want to understand why they did this, why they didn't do this, why they went here, why they did this, go there. Why did they send their child to this school? Why didn't they send their child to this school? [00:56:26] I speak personally because can I know her? Our children were in all different schools, like one of those families barem where kids are just like on the spectrum of all different hus of schools. Why did you send to here if you have a K there? You know, the school is like this school school. I received comments like personally, I could tell you a person we're ending with a little bit of a shkafa. [00:56:50] You have to be very careful not to step into the boundary of our fellow. Because Baruch, who did this to show us that if he allowed the moon obviously to step into the boundary of its fellow, the sun and there to be a pam, some sort of diminishment, some sort of consequence, needs a kapara Allah, because I did this. How much more so we have to think before we mind somebody else's business us. [00:57:16] It's human nature to be curious. It's also human nature to judge. It's so easy to judge others when we're not in the situation of somebody else. [00:57:26] If we remember a little bit of humility, a little bit of hats, a little bit of knowing when shtika silence is golden. [00:57:42] All these I grew up against the sages. I found nothing better for the body than I insights. We remember. [00:57:47] If we remember that just like we want someone to respect our boundaries, we will respect somebody else's boundaries. We will all become a little bit more sensitive, a little bit kinder. We will respect somebody else. We will protect their feelings. We will mind our business and not theirs. And then we'll increase ahavas amongst Kaiser. And if Hashem did this and says I need a carbon to be Mahabra. So the measure is saying much more so somebody who enters the bounty of his fellow. Will there be a pagan to be him? This is an opportunity for is in English. It's very beautiful. I wanted to teach it to I literally would have needed two hours to the share. I don't know. I. I don't know. I didn't realize. I didn't realize. I didn't realize. [00:58:26] I didn't realize. I'll come back next week. I'll come back. [00:58:31] I'm sorry. [00:58:32] So it's a time for. [00:58:35] It's a time for renewal. And every month, of course, who tells us, you can come back to me, you can grow great again. You could be Vishak in your Midas. You can improve in your Just like the moon looks like it's almost disappearing. [00:58:49] Has the capacity for Kush. It's the very first mitzvah that we are given. I hope as a Rashem. [00:58:54] These words of Torah were not only enlightening, but also informative. Elucidating helped us understand a little bit more about the Korbanas of the Tamid Shabbos. [00:59:04] While we are lacking in the absence of the Beta there we will serve you. Kime olam kamari us for the restoration of the service. [00:59:21] Thank you so much. I wish you a beautiful summer. I know you're going into break. This was the last one of these Shiurm. Thank you so much. Thank you to Andrew. Thank you everyone for joining called tough time. Thank you very much. [00:59:34] Thank you. Thank you. [00:59:37] Thank you so much. So, so much. Thank you. Thank you so much. [00:59:40] Bye. Thank you. [00:59:42] Have a good night, everybody.
